A brand new car, whichever brand you like, and it’s just unsettling to have an accident before you get good miles on your new ride. Not done with 2016, and 2017 hasn’t arrived but your car has been hit – it’s worse than bird poop after a detail!

Allston Collision Center recently had a flurry of brand new vehicles come to us and here is the before and after photo gallery.

2017 Hyundai Elantra Repair – Incident at a rotary!

The client came to Allston Collision Center and chose to have his insurance company look at his vehicle at our shop. I know I keep repeating myself, but 9 times out of 10 it is best to have us handle the negotiations up front with your insurance company.

The damage was located on the passenger side and the passenger side front. The biggest issue with this vehicle is that no dealership across the country had a bumper. This vehicle was so new the manufacturer did not yet have a stock of replacement parts. This was a waiting game but once the parts were available this was a quick turnaround.

2017 Ford Fusion Repair – Unfortunate parking lot incident and no one left a note!

This vehicle was a quick fix. It was dropped on Monday and returned on Friday. The metallic white was an easy match for our well trained technicians.

2016 Mercedes GLC 300 Repair – Parking garage mishap!

The damage was headlight to taillight and required all new parts. Unfortunately, the parts were, again, not readily available. This was not only a new vehicle, but a new model for Mercedes Benz. Once the parts became available, we tore this vehicle down, replaced all necessary parts, painted and returned it to the customer in one month’s time. Allston Collision Center missed the deadline on this by one week. Albeit the parts delay, we do still try to turn out a vehicle on time.

2016 Audi Q5 Repair – Yet another parking dilemma!

This vehicle required all new parts and had more damage than just the doors. Much of the damage is not visible if you can believe it. During the tear down of any vehicle it is not uncommon to find additional damage. In this case, Allston Collision Center removed both doors to properly identify all the damage.

This is a reoccurring theme in this blog but, again, another new vehicle, and a popular model, and not all parts are immediately available. However, once we have the parts, in hand, our technicians move forward with making sure everything fit properly. With this vehicle proper fit included putting doors on, removing them, and putting them on again a few times to make sure the fit is tight and right. When we achieve a proper fit the process moves quickly and we were ready to deliver in five weeks and on time.

2016 Mazda CX5 Repair – Hit while parked and the person left a note!

This 3-stage paint job requires real expertise. Whether you think it is blue or purple this new vehicle came out perfect. We did have delays on parts here too but we were able to deliver on time.

Some things to remember when buying a new vehicle… You know besides praying to the new vehicle gods that no one hits you and the birds keep their distance! No really, keep in mind if something does happen, parts can be tough to come by initially and patience will probably be helpful. Manufacturers often release a new vehicle to the public and then stock the replacements parts after. Another important thing to note is – should you be in an accident you want to use OEM parts. OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer and Allston Collision Center always negotiates for them on new vehicles while in warranty. This takes extra man-hours but we work with your insurance company to make sure you are covered.

In the long run the process is much easier when using a professional appraiser to negotiate on your behalf. Allston Collision Center is here to help you and we always guarantee our work for as long as you own your vehicle.
