The Auto Body Collision Repair Estimate Process Explained

Always start at the beginning of the process, which is at the scene of the accident.

1. Exchange information – name, license, registration and insurance
2. Take clear photos for your records
   – Remember no one can see behind the visible damage so guessing what’s there won’t help.
   – The only time you know the extent of the damage is when the car is taken apart.
3.  Document the date and time.

Report your accident to your insurance company (before you receive an estimate).  Insurance companies have standards for what should or should not be included in an estimate.

2. Make sure you know your coverage
3. Do you have rental insurance (if needed)

   – Do you need a tow
3. Upon arrival we will
   – Ask for your insurance carrier and contact info
   – Ask for your claim number
   – Fill out our repair order
   – Sign a  DTP (Direction to Pay). This allows the insurance company to pay us directly, or
   – You can pay us directly
4. Lastly our staff will assist in getting you to your next stop
   – Arrange a rental car
   – Arrange a ride within a reasonable distance
